Mary Francis Montgomery

Mary Francis Montgomery was born December 6, 1879.

We don't know for sure, but we believe she was probably born in Cooke County, Texas, where her parents, LPC and Sarah Montgomery, were married three years before.

We believe she was married to her only husband, Andrew Wiseman Mitchell (see photo at right), somewhere around 1895 or 1896. Andrew was related to the same Mitchell line as Sarah Mitchell, who married Thomas Key and gave birth to LPC Montgomery's second wife, Suzanne Ida Elizabeth Key.

The photo on the right was provided by Lori Deuerling of Bedford, Texas -- a direct descendant of Mary & Andrew.

We believe it's Mary & Andrew's wedding picture, probably taken around 1895 or 1896.


Mary & Andrew had six children that we know of:
  • Guy Wilson Mitchell (1896-1982)
  • Delphia Docia Mitchel (1900-1978)
  • Dora Ann Mitchell (1902-1991)
  • Ora Frances Mitchell (1908-1974)
  • Mabel Jewel Mitchell (1910-1938)
  • Norma Rachel Mitchell (1918-1996)

In 1966, Mary passed away. Andrew passed away the following year.
They are both buried at the East Mount Cemetery in Greenville, Texas.
