Ione Elizabeth Montgomery
(1877-1966)


Ione Elizabeth Montgomery was born in Gainesville, Cooke County, Texas on January 18, 1877
to LPC and Sarah Montgomery.

Ione married a man whose last name was Ashby, and they had two children:

We also believe that this may be a photo of Ione and one of her daughters, although again, I've kept it listed in the "Unidentified" photos section as well. > unid13.jpg
alene & lois.jpg Lucille (Montgomery) English in Colusa, CA contributed the photo on the left of (l. to r.) Alene Montgomery and someone named "Lois". We don't know where the photo was taken or when it was made.
Also contributed by Lucille (Montgomery) English, this photo had the names "Aaron", "Belene", "Leone", and "Edgar" on it. We believe Belene is Ione's youngest daughter, but we don't know who the other people in the photo are, or where, or when it was taken. > aaron_belene_leon_and_edgar.jpg

At some point in their marriage, Ione and her husband moved to California, but we don't know when, and whether or not their daughters were born there.




Prior to her death in 1966, Ione was moved from her home in West Covina, California to the Golden Age Convalescent Home in Baldwin Park, Los Angeles County, California, where she passed away on April 8, 1966.

She is buried at the Arroyo Granada Cemetery, Arroyo Grande, California.
