George Earl "Pappy" Elliott
(1884-1957)
George Earl was the first child of James Harvey & Isabell Elliott. He was born in
Sharon, Kansas in 1884.
A pioneer in the field of chiropractic medicine, George was known for his
dedication to the profession, but as you might be able to tell from the picture below, George was also known for
his wonderful sense of humor and gentle manner.
Shortly after the turn of the century, George met and fell in love with Mabel Ruey Meek, daughter of the Rev. Paschel Finley "Pa" Meek and
Mary Martha "Ma" (Parnell) Meek of Hennessey, Oklahoma.
They were married January the 4th, in 1903 in Hennessey (see marriage certificate below).
The photo below was either an engagement photo or taken shortly after their wedding.
George & Isabell (or "Pappy" and "Mammy", as they became known to their children and grandchildren) had 8
children altogether:

This wonderful photo (right) was taken somewhere around 1909 or 1910. We believe it shows Finley and Thelma
in the back row, with Opal, Olive, and George Earl, Jr. in the front row.
We believe the photo at left of Thomas Raymond and Martha Belle was taken sometime in the early 1920s.

This photo was taken at Mammy & Pappy's 50th wedding anniversary in 1954.
